Dr Ansaldo is a Full Professor at the Communication Sciences and Disorders School of the Université de Montréal. She is also Lab Director at the Geriatrics Research Institute, of the same university, and responsible for the Neurosciences. Dr Ansaldo research focuses on experience-induced neuroplasticity in healthy and brain damaged elderly, with a particular interest in the effects of bilingualism on cognitive and brain ageing. Her works are internationally recognized, and have opened new avenues in the study of language experience and its effects on brain structures and functions. Dr Ansaldo is very much involved in knowledge transfer from research to the general public, serving among others as consultant for the Global Council on Brain Research.
